Benefits of PELSAA Membership

As a PELSAA member, you get the following benefits:

• PELSAA Membership Card;

• PELS Uniform Ribbon

• PELSAA Pin; and

• Reduced rates for registration fees and hotel accommodations at the annual retraining sessions;

Your dues are also used to fund needs-based scholarships for smaller agencies throughout Virginia to attend PELS.

Annual Dues

Membership dues are $30 annually or $150 one-time payment for Life Membership (available only to retired members, see Types of Membership).

Renew or Apply for Membership

The membership year runs from July 1 to June 30.  To renew your membership or apply for new membership, please click on the link below to view and print the PELSAA Membership Application/Renewal form and mail the completed form along with your annual dues payment.  Credit cards are not accepted.

Types of Membership

The types of membership available are Active Membership, Affiliate Membership and Life Membership.

Active Membership

Active Membership is available to those persons who have successfully completed the Professional Executive Leadership School (PELS).  The cost of dues for Active Members is $30 annually.

Affiliate Membership

Affiliate Membership is available to those persons who have successfully completed the Institute for Leadership in Changing Times (ILCT).  Affiliate members are non-voting members.  The cost of dues for Affiliate Members is $30 annually.

Life Membership

Life Membership is available to members of the association who have retired and have been an Active Member of PELSAA for the two years preceding application for Life Membership.  Life members retain their voting privileges and pay a one-time membership fee of $150.
